English and Health Career Occupations/ Inglés y Ocupaciones de Carreras de Salud

This class not only offers English instruction, but gives you an overview into what medical classes are available at Cabrillo and the Adult School and also trans you in the real life skills you will need to work in the medical field. You will learn special vocabulary words, what the job entails, specific anatomy for each field and who to contact at Cabrillo to get started in college classes. For Intermediate High and Advanced EL students ONLY./ Esta clase no sólo ofrece instrucción en inglés, sino que les da una visión general de qué clases medicas están disponibles en Cabrillo y la Escula de Adultos y también te entrena en las habilidades de la vida real que necesitarás para trabajar en el camp médico. Usted aprenderá palabras de vocabulario especial, lo que el trabajo implica, anatomía específica para cada campo médico, y a quien contactar en Cabrillo para empezar las clases universitarias. Class series for parents, caregivers, counselors, social workers, advocates and teachers.

This 8 week class series provides an opportunity to learn new tools and skills that will help you to communicate effectively both in the short and long term with your preteen or teen.

• Learn to communicate with dignity and respect. 
• Develop your teen's internal focus of control and ability to self regulate. 
• Practice listening in new ways, make agreements and follow-through with kindness and firmness.

2-Day Certification Training

This certification training offers significant enhancement to any educational program/ institution by providing a step-by-step approach for school administrators, teachers, and other staff to instruct and guide students of all ages. Experiential activities and practical tools are provided that help adults to develop mutually-respectful relationships with students, promote students' sense of belonging, significance, and capability, and encourage students' positive contributions, problem-solving skills, and social-emotional learning.
